M3 in the snow in 2017.
Guess who has a snow day today.
That’s right it’s actually going to snow in Savannah today.

You lucky son of a gun. Absolutely no sign of snow in Athens

Yup. I’m going to drink coffee, do some unnecessary car shopping, play some video games, maybe read a little.

Friend in Thomasville got snow, too. No snow means the roads are still good here in the metro, though!!

Not looking so great in Savannah right now though.

At least you guys got snow. Guess what? In Florida we get cold and nasty rain. I will take snow over cold rain any day of the week.

Meanwhile this is the scene outside my work window:
That red line is 6 ft off the ground.

That’s the downside of snow down here. You can’t really go anywhere.

This morning on my way downstairs to make coffee and feed the cats, I heard a snowblower outside. I thought, “oh, it must’ve snowed.” I peeked out a window and confirmed the cars parked outside did in fact have an inch or two of snow on them. Then I decided I’d wear my boots to work and change into work shoes at the office, and continued about my day. Because this is Wisconsin, and it’s January.

I didn’t think snow days were a thing for grown-ups.

Such a fine-looking automobile... I drove mine today for the first time in a couple weeks, despite it being bitterly cold and it still having the summer tires on, and man, what a great car (even driven gingerly).
I really owe her a good wash. [feels shame]

Even thought it’s a 10+ year old design, it look absolutely fantastic.
I don’t drive mine that much and it lives in my garage, so it doesn’t get too dirty. I gave it a nice wax a while ago and when BMW washed my car after the air bag recall, it came out pretty clean. Probably going to wash it again, regardless, when it’s warmer; my wheels are still pretty dirty.
I’m not looking forward to the drive to work on my summer tires. The plan is to get some all seasons on it soon. The 3 series, that is. Might just show up a little late, so the roads have had sometime to defrost.

I need to check my car’s born-on date... got a big birthday coming up!
It’s bone dry here with nothing forecast, so I’m not too worried about it, but I do need to get my Conti DWS on very soon (tomorrow?).

I’m sure you’re already aware, but if you’re not this site can be used to check your production date.
All the snow and ice is melting here. Probably go outside in a little and scrape the 3 off.

Thanks - should’ve thought of that.
Production Date: 2008-03-13
I think this thing was as loaded as it could be (not the stripper model):
415 - Sunblind For Rear Window
417 - Roller Sunblind, Rear Side Windows
I really need to buy this and get it installed - ha!
694 - Preparation For Cd Changer

Mine has an October 15, 2010 production date. Wasn’t fully loaded, but still had 10k worth of options selected. If I was ordering the car, I would have swapped the sun roof for the premium sound and got the competition pack. The M3 made the serial number before mine is both a better color and has the competition pack.

Beauty!
The one before mine was black, and the one after was Sparkling Graphite Metallic - rare!

E203238:
E203239: (mine)
E203240:
Both were Interlagos Blue with DCTs. Mine obviously has a 6MT and is space grey metallic. Ironically, the dealer I bought mine from also sold E203240 used. I googled the VIN a while ago to see what I could find out, and in fact Park Place Porsche sold it at one point. I thought that was pretty cool.
Over Xmas 2013 I went to look at a 2008 sparking graphite M3, cause it was super cheap. It was like 35k, when even the 2008s were still in the low 40s. Before we could talk numbers, someone who got there before me bought it.
Sparking graphite would be rare, it was a 2008 only color. Space grey metallic replaced it for the LCI in 2009.

Interlagos really is a great color.
And those ZCP wheels look so good. Constantly on the fence about getting a set of those, or getting some APEXs (square).

I might treat myself to some ZCP wheels, one of these days.
